Coming & going
The train is the best way to travel between Lisbon and Sintra with services every 15 minutes from Lisbon's Estação Rossio. The 45-minute trip costs €1.40.
Buses run from Sintra to other towns and cities in the region including bus 417 to Cascais and bus 418 to Estoril.

Palácio Nacional da Vila de Sintra
Formerly a royal palace, the Palácio Nacional is a fusion of Moorish, Gothic and Renaissance styles and it features an excellent array of azulejos (Portuguese tiles).

Palácio Nacional de Pena
This enchanting castle is often compared with the one in Disney World. It is embellished with turrets, minarets and onion domes and is the main reason most travellers come to Sintra.
