Sweden is perhaps the most well known of the Scandinavian countries. It is a beautiful country stretching 2000km from the Arctic north to the plains of Skåne. Between these two extremes, you can find lakes, rolling countryside, the vibrant cosmopolitan cities of Malmö, Gothenburg and Stockholm and more castles than you could possibly manage to visit.
Sweden is expensive – like elsewhere in Scandinavia – however it is possible to travel on the cheap here. There are hundreds of affordable hostels located throughout the country and free camping is posible outside the cities. Prepare your own food, avoid the over-priced pubs and camp or stay in hostels and you can afford to travel here.
