Train travel is an excellent way to get around Belgium with frequent departures between major cities and nearby international destinations such as Luxembourg, Amsterdam, Cologne and Paris. The Belgian train network, operated by SNCB/NMBS, is on par with that of neighbouring countries with comfortable trains, although this isn't such a big deal since the longest train journey isn't likely to last more than a couple of hours.
The Go Pass is handy for young people (aged under 26) studying or working in Belgium who want to get out and explore the country. The Go Pass is valid for 10 single journeys in second class over a 6 month period. The pass must be used after 9am except on weekends, public holidays and in July and August.
If you're aged 26 or older, the Rail Pass is a good alternative to the Go Pass. This ticket is similar, giving the holder 10 single trips within Belgium, and it must be used after 9am (except on weekends, public holidays and in July and August).
Both the Go Pass and Rail Pass are not personal. This means that several people can travel on the one ticket and you can give the pass to someone else if you have finished with it.
These passes are good value, particularly for longer journeys.
