Eating
There are loads of cheap eating options scattered throughout Athens, including the ubiquitious souvlaki and gyro stands that provide a tasty snack for around a euro. Other street-food options include koulouri (doughnut-shaped break rolls) and lots of rich honey-coated pastries.
There are plenty of Greek restaurants, although those in the Plaka neighbourhood are geared towards tourists and are bit overpriced in comparison to restaurants elsewhere in the city. Some of the Greek food may not be quite as good as you'd find in Greek restaurants in Melbourne or Paris, however the Greek salads here are unbeatable.
