Only safe-ish place in the whole city.

The only problem is the lack of taxis and the grumpiness of the drivers when they turn up. Otherwise, lovely old station and great access to Union Sq.

Massive shopping, restaurant and cinema complex adjacent to the station, ideal if you are waiting for a connection and the weather is poor. Quite impressed!

Don't buy any drinks from WH Smith, it's cheaper on the train

The busiest station in northern Scotland – Aberdeen’s ideal for your travels. If you’re taking luggage or bags on board, look sharp and take care of them. Join in with #TheTactics on Twitter

Don't use cash machine outside station there are free ones inside Union Square near Subway

The only cash machine at the station charges £1.99 for withdrawals! There's a free Lloyds TSB cash machine at the adjoining Union Square (located on upper level, by the car parking payment machines).

Don't pay for the toilets unless you're in a hurry - the shopping centre next door has decent ones for free.

The Toilets are only 20p and have sanitiser for the seats. What more can you ask for?

Avoid the waiting room inside the train station. It smells really bad. Instead sit on a cold metal bench or go get a cuppa from Union Square
