An icon of the North East. Easily visible from the motorway, too, if you don't have time to pull off and visit it properly.

Several maquettes were produced during the development stage of the project. A man-sized model from which the sculpture was created was sold at auction for £2 million in July 2008.

One of the UK’s most famous pieces of art, the Angel welcomes you to the north with open arms, and watches over you as you study!
