Basel SBB train station (Bahnhof Basel SBB) is the main train station in Basel and it handles trains to destinations in Switzerland, France and Italy.
The SBB train station is the more centrally-located of Basel’s railway stations and is the main hub for Swiss SBB-CFF-FFS trains to destinations within Switzerland, France and Italy. Some DB trains to Germany stop here, although most trains to Germany depart from Basel Badischer Bahnhof north of the Rhine. Three lines of the Basel Regional S-Bahn also stop at this station including some regional services to France.
The station also serves as a terminus for French SNCF TGV trains to Paris-Lyon and Marseille-St-Charles as well as regional SNCF TER Alsace trains to Mulhouse and Strasbourg. Trains to France depart from an area of the station that is accessible via a border crossing and the station is often indicated as Bâle SNCF on French railway timetables.
