Germany is one of Europe’s largest countries both physically and economically, yet it is also one of the least visited. Perhaps it is the reputation for being a boring country. Yet how can a country whose culture is so so closely intertwined with beer ever be called boring?
While cities such as Frankfurt are among Europe’s leading business centres, it is still possible to find the traditional Germany of lederhosen and bratwurst. Big cities like Berlin, Düsseldorf, Hamburg and Munich a boast the vibrant air of a modern city, yet retain a traditional European culture and the country also boasts many historic villages and towns that are largely free of the tourist crowds found in many other European countries.
